Director
STEVEN WEBB : Director of Brentwood Catholic Children Society
I am very proud to have been appointed to the role of Director of this incredibly worthwhile charity. I hope that you will share my vision of a charity that matters greatly to every catholic so that we can help every child in need and their families, whether they are catholic or not.
My work history is marvellously traditional. From school to university to law school. I spent 22 years as a solicitor, 6 years as Chief Executive of the Anglican Diocese of Chelmsford (ok not that traditional) and now I am very happy to be here.
My personal history is also traditional but living it has always been great fun. I have been fortunate enough to be happily married to Christine for a long time. Christine is Chaplain at St John Payne School in Chelmsford. We have two fantastic children who are both at University. Our daughter Maria did a year working at Walsingham House on Canvey Island before going to university and our son Andrew has gone straight to university from school because the government is putting the tuition fees up next year!
We are parishioners at St Augustine's in Springfield, Chelmsford and I am also a member of Council 302 of the Knights of St Columba.
I have come to work here because it is an excellent place in which to help make the world a better place. At this time negotiations are on going at all levels of the Church and Government and Social Care organisations to improve society and I believe that we have a lot to contribute to that debate and indeed a lot to learn as well. We are well placed to contribute to the Big Society and in doing so help even more children in even more ways.
I have a great team here to get the job done but we would really appreciate any help that you can give us, whether as a volunteer or as a donor or an ambassador for what we do or even just to offer us advice. You have my details so please get in touch.
My vision is for every catholic to care about and support this Society so that every child and family in need can benefit from the work we do. I do hope that you can share my vision.
Steven
