Gift aid

Gift Aid allows you to increase your donation for free!

If you pay income or capital gains tax in the UK equal to or greater than the amount we claim you can sign a gift aid declaration. We currently claim 25p in every £1.

This allows us to claim back the tax you have already paid on the amount you're donating. A donation of £10 magically becomes £12.50 without you paying a further penny.

Make a declaration today to help us get more back from the taxman.

Gift aid is a way of allowing a charity to claim tax relief on gifts made by UK taxpayers, and is very simple.

The Government will automatically pay a further 3p for every £1 Gift Aid donation it receives between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011. This transitional relief has been provided by the Government to allow charities to adjust to the fall in basic rate tax (from 22% to 20%), which took place on 6 April 2008, and therefore the reduction in Gift Aid. This means that for every pound donated which is eligible for Gift Aid, BCCS will continue to receive an additional 28 pence until April 2011.
